Our paper entitled Disconnecting for the good: A network-oriented model for social contagion of opinions and social network interventions to increase adherence to social distancing presents our study on how social network topologies and public health agencies affect the spread of opinions on adhering to the social distancing protocols. It is a continuation of many works on social contagion and computational modelling.

The work was carried in partnership with Dr Mariza Ferro and Gabrieli Silva, from the LNCC (Scientific Computing National Laboratory), Petrópolis.

The results have shown the importance of the external agencies on convincing people to follow the health guidelines to prevent spreading the COVID-19 to other people in society. The presentation of the paper can be watched below (in PT-BR).
